PUBG=SUBG ?

PUBG, also known as player’s unknown battlegrounds is a FPS/TPS(first person/third person shooter) game, where the players have to eliminate their foes(other players) either at a local/worldwide level in a designated area by exploring through the areas in the provided map, gathering ammunition and additional supplies for survival. It is a game consisting of 98 players in total (depending upon the strata the player chooses to play on, be it the arcade; classic or one man stand mode, A.K.A, solo mode). The game allows players to have a real-time militia experience, where various strategies and techniques are used for survival till the end of the game. A spot centric to players to remain inside it, better known as ‘play area/blue zone’ is the designated area of the map, where the players have to remain, until and unless the circle diminishes to null. Players also get periodic updates for the game regarding maps and new ammunition giving the game an interesting and varied plot.
The developers, ‘Tencent Games’ initiated this project as a small approach to gaming introducing as a playable campaign of only 20-40 players, grouping among themselves in fours and battle to survive. Though the game is interesting and has its own benefits; it also comprises some dark boons to it. Tragic deaths and uncanny addictions are some of them. These ghoulish cases might put players in doubt but it is the bitter and preternatural truth of the society we live in. Being a descendant of Assam, I myself have seen one of my good mates loose his appetite, resulting in a trammelled college life only because of his addiction towards the game. Also, a recent case in my state; there was a death of an 11-year old juvenile only due to his lack of playing the game. The youth was told by his parents to reduce his gaming time because of his undying addictiveness in the game, but initially, seeing his changed behavioural pattern towards and because of the game, his parents had abolished the platform he used for playing(generally in smart phones). Devastatingly, the youth committed suicide out of addiction. If a single developing state can have such tragic cases regarding the game, it is no stranger in other states also.
IRONY IS THAT WINNING IN PUBG GIVES US A CHICKEN DINNER, BUT PLAYERS END UP EATING GREEN MEAN VEGGIES !
There have been leviathan approaches for such cases, though the addictiveness of the game still remains. PUBG has recently launched an initiative of putting up a reminder as a pop-up on the game screen when the player exceeds a certain amount of time playing the game continuously to reduce eye-strain along with its beneficial yet harmful addiction.
We as commoners can also contribute to a balanced alternative and eradicate the devilish addictions and cases regarding the game. Public campaigning by youth, putting up pamphlets and posters in our societies explaining the simple yet deep ideology, “Too much of everything does no good”, Guided counselling advices by youth to other youths explaining the harm PUBG can do; if players engage in long hours of gaming are some small measures we can take. Hypothetically speaking, these are just small doable initiatives, but the major concern is for the developers and the creators; to think of an alternative keeping in mind of not harming the youths as well in order to end this nemesis for the better.
